When using cleanroom wipes, the so-called folding technique can be used to ensure that all sides of the wipe are used efficiently. This saves material costs and avoids unnecessary waste. The folding technique allows a total of eight individual clean sides of the cleanroom wipe to be used for wiping.

Steps in cleanroom wipe folding technology

Folding the cleanroom wipe with the folding technique before and during cleaning with this cleanroom wipe takes place in several steps:

  1. Fold the cleanroom wipe in half in the air and then fold the folded wipe in half again in the air
  2. Use one side of the folded cleanroom towel for wiping
  3. Turn the folded cloth over and use the clean side for wiping
  4. Unfold the cloth once and fold it in the other direction
  5. Use one side of the folded cleanroom towel for wiping
  6. Turn the folded cloth over and use the clean side for wiping
  7. Fully unfold the cleanroom wipe and lay the wipe with the used sides facing upwards

  9. Repeat steps 2 to 6

Wiping technology for cleanroom wipes

In addition to the correct folding technique, the correct wiping technique is also important when using cleanroom wipes in order to work as effectively as possible with the wipes. The following points should be observed when wiping with the folded cleanroom wipe:

  • group the side of the folded cloth that has no creases (open side of the cloth) between your thumb and index finger
  • the fingers are placed together
  • with the edge of the hand resting on the cloth, apply even pressure to the cloth, bending the hand slightly
  • the open side of the fabric is moved sideways away from the surface
  • wipe in a straight line
  • Never wipe in a circle
  • individual wipe lengths should overlap by around 10-25% so that no area is left out
  • Wiping and lifting technique: when you have finished wiping, you should lift the cloth completely
  • Wipe from the cleanest to the dirtiest area, i.e. generally from back to front, from top to bottom, from the driest area to the wettest area; in cabinets and insulators, wipe away from the filters
  • the wiping surface should be changed after ten wiping lengths

The advantages of pre-soaked cleanroom wipes include the fact that the liquid wetting is uniform for each wipe and you save time as you do not have to spray cleaning agents or disinfectants.
