Manufacture of Halyard Purezero cleanroom gloves

The manufacturing process for Halyard’s Purezero nitrile gloves consists of various steps to ensure that these gloves meet the requirements of the cleanroom class for which they are recommended.

Both sides of the Purezero are washed with chlorine and deionized water. In this way, particles on the surface, powder residues and extractable substances are removed to reduce the contamination with these particles and substances to a very low level.

The cleanroom gloves are then subjected to extensive tests. The physical properties are tested, such as the presence of particles and the content of extractable ions. The barrier properties and tensile strength are also tested.

The gloves are then vacuum-packed in cleanroom-compatible polyethylene packaging consisting of several layers in a class 100 or ISO class 5 cleanroom in order to comply with certain particle and airflow standards during the post-processing and packaging steps.

To ensure the traceability of the cleanroom gloves and the components and raw materials used to manufacture them, the glove packaging is provided with batch and lot numbers. The expiry date is also indicated on the packaging.
