In the following article, we present the properties and advantages of the sterile alkaline detergent “perform sterile mucasol”, which is characterized in particular by the fact that this detergent is highly effective in cleaning common cytostatic drugs and monoclonal antibodies.

Areas of application

The sterile alkaline cleaning agent “perform sterile mucasol” from Schülke is suitable for cleaning surfaces and equipment/appliances in cleanrooms. It is compatible with the metals stainless steel (1.4301, 1.4016), brass and copper, but is not compatible with aluminum, which is why contact with aluminum should be avoided. However, the cleaner is compatible with zinc.

In the case of plastics, “perform sterile mucasol” is compatible with PE, polysterol, ABS, acrylic glass, polycarbonates, POM, PET, polyamide, PS and rigid PVC and in the case of elastomers with gray natural rubber, EPDM, NBR, IIR, chloroprenes, FKM, soft PVC, silicones and PUR.

As “perform sterile mucasol“ from Schülke is highly effective for cleaning monoclonal antibodies and common cytostatic agents, this alkaline sterile cleaner is particularly suitable for use in facilities where tumors are treated.

Today, cytostatic drugs are a central component in tumor treatment, but some of them are carcinogenic and mutagenic. This makes it all the more serious when these cytostatic drugs – for example in the course of patient-specific preparation – are carried into the medical working environment and contaminate this environment. Here, “perform sterile mucasol“ has a high cleaning performance and contaminations are largely eliminated. Even better cleaning results can be achieved by combining “perform sterilemucasol“ with the alcoholic working solution “perform sterile alcohol IPA” (see the “Instructions for use” section for the exact use of the combination).

Contamination can also be removed to a large extent in preparations involving monoclonal antibodies by cleaning with “perform sterile mucasol“. And here too, the cleaning result can generally be improved if “perform sterilemucasol” is combined with the alcoholic working solution “perform sterile alcohol IPA” (see the “Instructions for use” section for the exact use of the combination).

Instructions for use

As far as the application is concerned, you should use the cleaner “perform sterile mucasol “ undiluted onto a cloth or directly onto the objects or surfaces to be cleaned. You should then wipe. After cleaning with “perform sterile mucasol”, the objects or surfaces cleaned with it should be rinsed with water (at least drinking water quality) to remove cleaning agent residues. It is then recommended to disinfect with “perform sterile alcohol IPA”.
