Correct handling of the CELOS dust control mat
This article explains how to use the CELOS dust control mat correctly, whereby a combination of the temporary CELOS adhesive film mat with a permanent dust control mat is generally recommended.
Optimum protection through a combination of dust control mats
Dust control mats are designed to prevent particles on the soles of shoes or the wheels of trolleys from entering the cleanroom. A distinction is made between temporary dust control mats and permanent dust control mats. The CELOS brand also offers a temporary dust control mat with several layers of adhesive film on top of each other. If necessary, the dirty adhesive film can simply be removed to reveal a fresh adhesive film.
The permanent dust control mats, on the other hand, are not based on films, but on a washable sticky material. They are therefore reusable mats. And finally, the reusable category also includes dust control flooring, which can be used to permanently cover an entire room.
To achieve optimum protection and cost savings, the temporary adhesive film mat from CELOS should be combined with a permanent mat. Pre-cleaning with the permanent dust-binding mat protects the adhesive film mat and therefore reduces its requirements and ultimately the costs. At the same time, the shoes or trolley wheels come into contact with more dust-binding surface when the mats are combined.
There are also matching base plates available for the adhesive foil mats from CELOS, which protect the mats, allow them to be used variably and at the same time protect the floor.
When stepping on the respective dust-binding mat, make sure that you step firmly with the entire sole of the shoe so that the particles adhere to the mat as well as possible.

Removing contaminated adhesive film from the CELOS adhesive film mat
As soon as the top adhesive film of the temporary CELOS dust control mat has become too dirty, it should be removed, whereby various techniques are possible here. Regardless of which removal technique you choose, you should always be careful to stir up as few particles as possible. Static electricity can also be generated if the film is removed too quickly.
A very simple technique for removing the contaminated adhesive film is to lift the film at one corner and then roll it into a ball.
Another peeling technique involves holding all four corners of the adhesive film in your hands during the last peeling step and then peeling off the remaining film. The first step is to pull on the number tab of the top adhesive film with one hand and at the same time press on the number tab of the film below with the other hand. Pull this first corner until the film also lifts at the next, second corner. Now take the other hand and pull the second corner together with the first corner until the foil has lifted to the middle. Now take both corners in one hand and pull on the third corner until the foil has lifted from there to about the middle. And finally, pull on the fourth corner until it reaches approximately the middle of the mat, while holding the other three corners in the other hand. Once you have peeled the film from all corners to the middle, you can peel off the remaining film, whereby the risk of tearing the film and releasing dust has been greatly reduced.
