What is a cleanroom vacuum cleaner?

At the highest suction level, ULPA filters become HEPA filters, where the filter performance is slightly worse in relation to the size of the particles, as HEPA filters filter particles larger than 0.3 µm, but here too at 99.999 %. By the way, HEPA stands for “High Efficiency Particulate Air”.

A cleanroom vacuum cleaner should also have certain properties to ensure that the vacuum cleaner itself is easy to clean . This includes, for example, that a cleanroom vacuum cleaner should have a smooth surface made of special plastic or stainless steel. In addition, the edges should be rounded and dead spaces should be avoided.

In cleanrooms where GMP requirements must be met, care must be taken when selecting the cleanroom vacuum cleaner to ensure that the vacuum cleaner parts are autoclavable, i.e. can be sterilized using a steam sterilization process.
