Only after complete curing are most pipes with these Loctite thread sealants tight up to bursting pressure.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advantages of thread sealants from Loctite<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Compared<\/strong> to conventional sealants &#8211; solvent-based sealants, PTFE tapes, hemp and paste &#8211; <strong>Loctite thread sealants<\/strong> have <strong>advantages<\/strong> for the following reasons:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Solvent-based sealants<\/strong> have the disadvantage that they shrink during curing due to the evaporation of the solvent, which means that the threaded connections have to be retightened to reduce the gaps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the case of threaded connections sealed with <strong>PTFE tapes<\/strong> (polytetrafluoroethylene tapes), dynamic loads can cause these connections to loosen by themselves. This results in a loss of preload, which leads to leakage. Dynamic loads can also accelerate the creep of the PTFE sealing tape, resulting in leaks. However, even tightening the threaded parts when using PTFE tapes is problematic, as too much preload is often generated, which can cause the components to break.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The disadvantage of <strong>hemp and paste<\/strong> is that they are not clean during assembly and are a hindrance when generating the preload force.
