ESD packaging

ESD packaging

ESD packagingnot only protects against discharges, but also against dust, moisture and mechanical damage. It should be noted that some ESD packaging materials lose their properties over time and therefore need to be replaced regularly. For additional protection of sensitive components against moisture, abovo AG recommends the use of dry bags, which are filled with desiccant and absorb any moisture that occurs. Areas of application If ESD-endangered components are not installed immediately or are on their way to the customer, care must always be taken to ensure that they are packaged safely and in accordance with standards using ESD packaging. ESD packaging is divided into different categories. Directly adjacent packaging is in direct contact with the component. Wraparound packaging is not in direct contact with the component and wraps one or more components. Finally, secondary packaging serves to physically protect the components, but is kept away from components and is therefore not permitted in an EPA.
