ESD finger cots are so-called protective glove equivalents, which are only pulled over a single finger. They are therefore also referred to as single-finger gloves. ESD finger cots protect electrostatically sensitive components from electrostatic discharge and ensure maximum precision when working in ESD-protected areas. This is because dissipative ESD finger cots increase the contact resistance of an earthed person, which means that the discharge rate can be controlled. ESD finger cots are made from latex and nitrile, among other materials.

Areas of application

ESD finger cots are the ideal solution for delicate work on electrostatically sensitive components where full ESD gloves are not required. When wearing ESD finger cots, the wearer has more freedom of movement than when wearing an ESD glove. ESD finger cots are primarily used in ESD protected areas (EPAs). The abbreviation EPA stands for the English term "ESD protected area".
