ESD - Electrostatic discharge

ESD products

ESD products are used in particular to protect electrostatically sensitive components and devices from damage or destruction as a result of uncontrolled electrical discharge. ESD stands for "electrostatic discharge". ESD products range from ESD wristbands and ESD table mats to ESD furniture and ESD floor mats.

Areas of application

ESD products are used, for example, when electrostatically sensitive components and devices are assembled or handled. ESD products are also used for shipping and storing electrostatically sensitive components and devices. But ESD products are also used where there are flammable gases, flammable liquids or combustible debris, for example, in order to minimize the risk of fire and explosion, as electrostatic discharges are a source of ignition.
